Happy November! Can’t believe we’re getting into wintertime, but on the same token, can’t believe 2020 has lasted this long! I’ve been thinking a lot lately about what 2020 has made me realize, reflecting on that, and coming up with goals to counteract this hell of a year we’ve gone through! One of the biggest aspects of life, pre-COVID, that I truly miss is community involvement and social events. Every time I hear the word “cancelled”, “postponed”, or the phrase “due to COVID”, my heart sinks a bit more. Purchasing a home in walking distance to downtown Wakefield was a goal of mine and Morgan’s so that we could be involved in all the events that South County had to offer! Realizing that the way downtown used to be and the events that took place may never be the same is a tough thought for me.

Trying to find the positive light in the most negative situation, I brainstormed ways to support our community, even if that meant transitioning into a virtual community as a Realtor. I started thinking of a a virtual cocktail hour to discuss buying a home in South County, an area I knew would attract others and Talking with Jeff Kosiorek, VP of mortgage lending with Guaranteed Rate and a fellow South County local, we brainstormed. As we began chatting, it seemed like the idea just kept evolving and improving; instead of just one webinar, it would be a continuous series and instead of focusing just on the process of buying a home, it would encompass all that buying a home entails, from the neighborhood, to the community and events, and of course, the local businesses!

I loved the idea of incorporating supporting local businesses into this “forum”, as we’re now calling it. A place to go not only if you’re looking for information on buying a home in South County, but a place where supporting local businesses and events is encouraged, and introducing our community to local businesses, vendors and contractors that make living in SoCo that much more enjoyable! Especially now more than ever, it’s important to know how you can support local and give to the community what you can to help keep our small town as vibrant and community-oriented as it has always been!

And VUAHLA (or however you spell it), SoCo Home was born! A forum for your local Realtor and mortgage lender to share information about buying a home, answering any and all questions from the community, and supporting local businesses. We will be hosting one webinar (for now, until it’s safe to start hosting events at local businesses) the second Wednesday of every month from 5:00 – 5:30 PM in a casual cocktail hour environment via Zoom. Hang out with us while we chat about different topics (to be announced prior on our Facebook page, SoCo Home, and an opportunity to ask any and all questions that you may have about real estate, mortgages, or the community! As a way to help our community thrive, we’ll be raffling off various baskets, merch, gift cards and more from local businesses each month to give you a reason to venture out and #supportlocal!

You can enter our first raffle (TBA, but it’s a good one to kickoff – trust me :)) by going to our Facebook page and giving us a “Like” – simple as that. Want an additional entry? Hop on our first Zoom call next Wednesday – 11/11 at 5:00 PM. Want an additional 3 entries to total your entry number to 5 and give you a pretty good shot? Share our page on your timeline or story! Winner will be announced on our page 11/20!

This is not a one-and-done or a few-and-done thing – our goal is to keep this going and give our community something to look forward to, a place to connect and support, and a go-to destination for anything you may be curious or nervous about relating to buying a home! Jeff and I want you to think of us when you think of buying a home, but more importantly, we want you to think of community when you think of SoCo Home. So head on over to Facebook, search SoCo Home, and give us a “Like” to give you a shot at the raffle, and us a shot at supporting our community!

Can’t wait to see all your beautiful, un-masked faces on our call 1 WEEK FROM TODAY 🙂

Zoom link to the call will be posted in the next few days, so check back for more info!

You really make it seem so easy with
your presentation but I find this matter to
be really something which I think
I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely
    broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
