WELCOME TO NORTH KINGSTOWN
This “north of the tower” town, as locals would see it, encompasses several smaller counties like Saunderstown, Wickford, Quonset, Davisville, Quidnessett, and others! In North Kingstown, you can have the best of all worlds with amazing beaches, schools, golf courses, shopping and restaurants all just a stone’s throw away!
From golfing at Quidnessett Country Club, to air shows in Quonset, to Christmas fairs in Wickford, there is something to do in every season! Wickford is seen as the main little shopping area set on quintessential Wickford Cove, where you can watch the boats coming in and out while enjoying a coffee or bite to eat from one of the many cafes! In the winter time, this little town hosts a Christmas weekend complete a boat ride in with Santa, caroling, and the shops all decorated for the season. There is no shortage of things to keep you busy here!
Restaurants & Cocktails
North Kingstown boasts an array of eateries all with different atmospheres which gives you plenty of options when planning your Saturday night out! Looking for something with a coastal feel? Try Wickford on the Water, you can’t go wrong with anything on the Menu! Looking for something with a cozy, intimate feel? Try Plum Point Bistro where the dim lights, decor and delicious entrees give you the feeling of a warm hug. How about somewhere for game day/night? Try Back40! Casual bites and beers with your choice of sitting in the bar area with couches and the games of the day playing, or sitting in the booths for a laid-back meal. And if you happen to find yourself wandering around Wickford with your stomach getting rumbly, try Shayna’s Place. The sandwiches are chock-full of all the good-stuff! After lunch, why not stop into Gooseneck Vineyards to give wine tasting a try?
While I may be missing several other great spots, check out any one of North Kingstown’s eateries to support local and see for yourself the variety that you can have in this small Rhody town!
North Kingstown is a one-stop-shop for everything you could possibly need. The Shoppes at Quonset include must-stops like Dave’s, Homegoods, Kohl’s and Lowe’s – what more could you need?! Specialty shops, like most of those found in Wickford, provide great guest experience with unique finds, perfect for gift-giving! Antique shops, such as the Corner Cupboard, Re Antiques and Interiors, and Wickford Antiques are my favorites when looking for home furnishings and decor! With the Wickord Train Station nearby makes Boston an easy day-trip for all your shopping needs!
Hungry from all your shopping? Stop into Allie’s Donuts for a one-of-a-kind, hometown donut – and if you’re so hungry you could eat a cow, try one of their delicious donut cakes (my birthday cake of choice:)
